Eleni Christidou & Panos Tantis
What happens when voice and movement are released together?
About the Facilitator
Eleni Christidou is a musicologist with extensive experience in the field of music. She has studied piano and theory, while at the same time she has explored other musical instruments like the accordion, guitar, and percussion. The Alexander Technique courses have been an important part of her career, while studying in drama school made her even more sensitive to expression and interaction with others. Her innate love of voice and sound as a therapeutic tool stems from personal experience, as from a young age she dealt with her fears and pains through song. With great dedication, she has worked with various groups, including disability groups, rehabilitation groups, and children's groups. In recent years, Eleni has focused on sound healing and the use of singing bowls, offering a safe and secure environment for the use of sound and audio therapy, with the goal of liberating herself and others. Panos Tantis is a musician with many years of experience in various genres of music. He studied sound recording and immersed himself in the research of the phenomenon of sound as a physical phenomenon and as a therapeutic tool. He composes music, writes lyrics, and plays guitar, percussion and sings on three original albums ('Everything Re', 'One for the Road', 'Deeply Naked'), participates in rock and electronic music bands, giving concerts and performances and teaching music. He expresses himself and communicates and connects with other people through music. He strongly believes in the healing power of music and vibrations, and explores these realms with his music creations. Furthermore, he is convinced that we as human energy are connected to the universe, which vibrates. We leave with confidence in his musical creations that will accompany and sonically intersperse our workshop, in order to inspire and motivate us with his rhythms and melodies.

Peter Hess® Sound Massage
The sound massage is based on ancient knowledge concerning the effect of sound, which has been applied as a therapy in India for over 5000 years. Peter Hess, in his search for alternative healing methods, travelled to Nepal, India and Tibet. It was during these journeys that he first became acquainted with therapeutic sound-based methods. With the knowledge he gained after many years of practice, Peter Hess adapted this knowledge to Western cultures. The result was sound massage. What happens during a session? The session lasts about 1 hour and uses sound bowls which are made of metal. The flow of their vibration is passed into the body through clothing. The sound bowls are placed on and around the person receiving the massage, and the sound produced by the therapist affects the body-mind system, allowing the person to experience a renewed vitality. The major benefits of sound massage are: - Quick transition to deep relaxation, due to the fact that the sound affects our primal consciousness. - Gentle massage and harmonization of all body cells through sound. - Relief from tensions and blockages of the body. - The person receiving the sound massage feels their body is pleasantly light and pulsating freely. - Self-healing powers are activated. - Positive effect on self-confidence, creativity and productive energy. What does sound offer to health? At the neuronal level, sounds can be used in a targeted way to affect brain wave frequencies and drive the brain into a state of relaxation. Sounds trigger neurophysiological responses such as the release of neurotransmitters. They can stimulate brain reorganization and the creation of new neural connections. This method is used, for example, effectively to rehabilitate people who have had a stroke. On the psycho-emotional level, sounds directly address emotions through the limbic system, without being censored by logic. This is why sounds can be used brilliantly as a non-verbal means of communication and expression. Sound is the medicine of the future. – Edgar Cayce
